About Us
Inspired by movement. Designed to go with you.
Boleo was born from a shared love of craft, adventure, and the kind of leather bag that only gets better with time. Created by two friends with full lives and big careers, we wanted pieces that could move with us—on work trips, long weekends, and spontaneous escapes. Named after the boleo, a swift and elegant kick in tango, our bags are made for motion and full of soul.
Our Process
Crafted with Purpose
We work with a family-owned tannery in Argentina that has been perfecting its vegetable-tanning process for generations. Our bags are handcrafted in small batches by expert artisans, using traditional techniques passed down over time. No synthetic shortcuts, no fast fashion waste—just rich leather, thoughtful design, and heirloom-level quality.
Full Grain, Vegetable-Tanned Leather
The Real Deal
We only use fullgrain leather—the highest quality available. It's not sanded down, coated, or corrected. Every mark and variation is part of the story, and over time your bag will develop a rich patina that reflects how you live, move, and carry it.
Our leather is vegetable-tanned using plant-based extracts rather than harsh chemicals. It’s an eco-conscious, time-intensive process that creates deep color, natural feel, and lasting durability.
Companions for the Adventurous Spirit
Everyday luxury, made to move.
At Boleo, we design pieces that meet you where you are—whether that’s catching a flight, heading to work, or chasing a last-minute plan. Our core collection includes elevated essentials like our Weekender, Backpack, and Crossbody—crafted for form, function, and daily wear.
But we also make space for the unexpected. A leather-bound journal for your next idea. A simple wrap bracelet you didn’t know you needed. A rotating cast of thoughtful goods that keep creativity—and adventure—at the heart of what we do.
These are not fast-fashion accessories. They’re pieces to reach for over and over again—bags and objects that gather memories, wear in, soften up, and tell your story.
Caring for Your Leather
It’s not delicate—it’s evolving.
We use only full grain, vegetable-tanned leather, sourced from one of Argentina’s best eco-conscious tanneries. It’s natural, untreated, and designed to age beautifully. That means you might notice marks, tonal shifts, or darkening with use—this isn’t damage; it’s character.
Here’s how to care for your leather:
- Use it. The best thing you can do is wear it, touch it, move with it.
- Skip the polish. Small scuffs and scratches will often fade into the leather’s evolving patina.
- Condition occasionally. If your bag starts to feel dry, a natural, wax-free conditioner can restore softness and sheen. Test in a discreet area first.
- Avoid soaking. Light rain is fine; just let your bag dry flat and away from direct heat. If you’d like added protection, a leather-safe water repellant can be used sparingly.
Our leather isn’t afraid of a little wear. It softens, darkens, and gains soul over time—just like the best things in life.
Who we are
-
Jill
Jill is a physician, a mom of two, and a lifelong lover of language, design, and unexpected adventure. She studied abroad in Argentina and fell hard for its unhurried pace—the long sidewalk coffees, the late dinners, the way people show up for each other without rushing off to the next thing.
Boleo is her way of bringing that feeling home. It’s a creative outlet in the midst of a very full life—where medicine, motherhood, and movement all collide. She’s drawn to pieces that feel lived-in, a little rugged, and made to carry stories—not just stuff. For Jill, Boleo is about honoring the things that last, slow beauty in a fast world, and carving out space for what really matters. -
Courtney
Courtney is a powerhouse in commercial real estate, a yoga devotee, and a mom of four who somehow manages to make it all look effortless. She’s magnetic and grounded, the kind of person who lights up a room and also makes you feel seen. For Courtney, Boleo is about more than bags—it’s about soul. She’s passionate about surrounding herself with things that are well made, full of story, and aligned with purpose. At her core, she’s a connector, a dreamer, and someone always chasing joy.
